The Return

Hello, well I made it home and let me say it is good to be back in the good old USA! Not that I didn’t love Italy, I did, but you do tend to take for granted hearing the English language and being able to spend money without having to stop and think about the currency exchange and how much money you are really losing! My yarn quest in Florence did not pan out unfortunately. I couldn’t find a shop anywhere! Thankfully, there were plenty other objects of beauty to lavish over, namely the colorful pottery and gorgeous leather. I did manage to pick up both of these items for which Italy is known for. So here is my visual travel log for all of you to enjoy. DSCF6167// My new home away from home in Florence. DSCF6172 DSCF6171//First major site to see, the Duomo. Pretty awe inspiring, right? DSCF6204 DSCF6214 DSCF6203 DSCF6198 //Scenes of Florence. DSCF6209 DSCF6180//So much inspiration everywhere! It was commonplace to see people sitting and sketching the architecture, an artist’s haven to be sure.

DSCF6189 DSCF6287 DSCF6452 DSCF6498//Oh, and that Italian food! 1. First meal – pizza with anchovies and capers, yum! 2. Ravioli in a walnut cream sauce, to die for. 3. Calzone – the basil really added a great touch, very good. 4. I don’t recall the name of this, but I had it at an old hospital turned ristorante in Sienna. How about those worm shaped noodles?! Don’t let that fool you though, it was delicious!
